My Comment on Lyle's blog post about camp
My remember when... poem
That Was Camp.
Remember when we're doing archery and Mrs Archer, Ashlyn and Tui got the bulls eye everybody was amazed?
Remember when we were doing giants ladder and I thought I was going to die or fall off?
That was camp.
Remember when we were surfing and James caught lots of big waves and he was riding it like a real surfer ?
Remember when we were doing slingshot and the red team won but James got the ball in the black box?
That was camp.
Remember when we had really nice soft shell tacos for dinner that smelt really delicious?
Do you remember when it was nighttime and the boys were being so loud that the adults will come in and tell them to be quiet?
That was camp.

End of term reflection
Hi everyone this is the end of term reflection. We do end of term reflection so we can reflect back at our learning.
Backward-Looking:
What have been your learning highlights this term?
My Learning Highlights
I think my learning highlight was good like in geometry and writing. I think my learning highlight was bad in reading because I scored a 2p in the e-asttle.
|
Inward-Looking:
What were your Learner Profile goals for Term 2? Have your goals changed? Are you on track to meet your goals?
My learner profile goal was to be tolerant to others and fill their buckets. I think my goal changed once but I don’t remember. I think I am on track to my goals.
|
Outward-Looking:
If you were the teacher, what comments would you make about your learning so far?
I think my comment about my learning will be that I need to work on more reading.
|
Forward-Looking:
As you look back at your learning so far, what's one thing that you would like to try to improve upon?
I would try to improve in reading so I can be a better reader and make stories. I need to improve on reading so I can level up my initiative.

5/06/15 SH Speedwrite Proofread: Shiny stuff in the sky that is shaped as balls.
[Introduction]
Did you know that a star is not shaped out as a star the shape is a ball and there is lots of them? Stars are balls of hot gas that shine in the sky. Did you know that the sun is a dwarf star and the sun is not actually orange it is actually green but the sun gets all firey and that is why you think it is orange. If you want to know more about stars you should read more of this information report.
Appearance
Now I am going to tell you about the stars appearance. All stars are different colours and that means it’s a different type. Some stars are blue, some stars are red, some stars are white and some stars are ultraviolet. If the star is a different colour that means it is a different temperature. For the red star that is a lowest temperature. For the ultraviolet star it is the highest.
Types of stars
Now I am going to tell you about the types of stars. They are different types of stars and they are different sizes. First is the dwarf star and that is the smallest star. Next is the main sequence star and it’s bigger than the dwarf star. Now it’s the giant star and the giant star is bigger than the dwarf star and the the main sequence star. Now it’s the super giant star and the super giant star is biggest star.
Life cycle
Now I am going to tell you about the lifecycle of a star. First the star is formed as hydrogen atoms. Then gravity pushes it and it comes together and turn into helium atoms. Then the new star gets born in the centre of nebulae. Then the star grows and it grows in the order of the types of stars but the main sequence goes first and the dwarf star comes last because that’s when like the star dies.
[Conclusion]
Did you know that stars are usually 10 billion years old .Now this is the end of the star information report. I hope you make one yourself. If you want anymore information you can check this website http://www.ducksters.com/science/star.php.

WHY DOES THE MOON LOOK DIFFERENT EVERY NIGHT?
WHY DOES THE MOON LOOK DIFFERENT EVERY NIGHT?
Did you know that the moon is not changing shape it is just the shadow covering the other side. Now you know information about the moon you should try and make your own one. I hope this inspired you to make you own one. If you want more information about the moon you should click on this website http://bit.ly/1IJ3pLO. The information in this website might inspire you and it might make you find more information for the moon.
Let me tell you about the Moon, the grey asteroid, and about all of its phases that make it look different every night. In many ways it will look like a banana or half of a circle and that is why you should read this whole explanation as to why this happens
While the moon orbits the earth, we either see more or less of each side of the Moon. We see more or less of each side because the Moon goes into a shadow and the sun shines some of the moon so we can see some of its appearance. Some people believe that the Moon's shadow is caused from the earth's shadow but it’s actually the sun shining it’s light on one side because the Moon keeps on rotating. However, each phase is caused by the sun's reflection on the Moon and because the Moon keeps on spinning on it’s axis.
A new Moon is a moon is the Moon in a shadow and if it’s a new moon for the southern hemisphere it might be a full moon for the northern hemisphere. The waxing crescent is the one after the new moon and you can see only a bit like 1/12 but that's my guess so that might not be real. The first quarter is the one that goes after the waxing crescent and the first quarter looks like half of the the moon but it is not because you can only see a quarter of the moon and because the other side is the other quarter. Waxing gibbous is like first quarter but it is a bit bigger and you will see that it is nearly full. A full moon is the whole moon that is covered in grey. Then the other side like instead of calling it waxing it is called waning all of it is the same just on the other side.
Did you know that the moon is not changing shape it is just the shadow covering the other side. Now you know information about the moon you should try and make your own one. I hope this inspired you to make you own one. If you want more information about the moon you should click on this website http://bit.ly/1IJ3pLO. The Small Red killer whale
Introduction
Mars is the only planet that’s made out of a red globe. You can’t live on Mars, it’s too hot and you’ll die from getting burned. Mars got its name from a roman god of war and Mars has lots of hot volcanoes and dust storms. Did you know that Mars is about half the size of earth. Did you know in the 20th century people thought there was living species on Mars.
Appearance
Mars is a red planet and it’s called a red planet because of the colour of Mars and because of how it’s really hot. When you see a picture of mars you’ll see that it’s smooth but for real that’s not the real picture. If you know it’s the real picture you’ll see that it’s rocky and how you can see some lumps. Mars is red because how the is no layer to protect it and it’s because it’s hot, if there was a layer to protect it, Mars might be a little blue and it’ll be known as a blue planet not a red one. Mars is lumpy because it has lots of volcanoes, lots of mountains and it really has lots of dust storms and you’ll get blown away from it.
Could Humans live on Mars
Could humans live on Mars? No they can’t, it’s too cold too live on.
You can’t live on Mars because Mars doesn’t have a magnetic field like earth and UV rays will go to Mars and it’ll give you skin cancer. Mars is a planet you can’t live on because Mars has a thin atmosphere and that causes Mars to have not that much oxygen to breathe. Don’t ever go to Mars, you’ll get blown away from dust storms and anything in it’s way will be in heaps of danger, also if you’re at Mars and a dust storm comes to you, you’ll be in danger because that dust storm will make lots of dust storms and the storms will be up and running for months.
If you ever go to mars you should be aware of all the danger in front of you and all the danger behind you.
Conclusion
Now you know most of the information about Mars you can make your own information report about Mars. And now you know how to make a information report here is more information about Mars so you can make a big information report.
http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/sciencefacts/planets/mars.html. I really hope that you will make an information report and I hope you follow my footsteps so you can kind of make an information report like mine.

ANZAC reflection
What: I’ve learned that conscription mean like the government says that you have to join the war because if you don’t the government takes you to jail. Another thing that I’ve learned is that a conscious objector gets called a coward because the soldier think they don’t fight because they are too shy to fight but it just might be in their religion . Another thing that I’ve learn’t is the stretcher bearers are kind of like normal day paramedics or first aid workers. Another thing that I’ve learn’t is that you can find rats that grow up to the size of cats.
So what: I’ve learn’t this so I can know lots of stuff about ANZAC and so I can know lots about those soldier that have died in the past that have saved New Zealand. I’ve also learned this because if I didn’t I would know nothing about ANZAC and I will get left out because I know nothing about ANZAC. I’ve learned this because I’ve wanted to know all about ANZAC and because it’s kind of like a game but its not it’s just world war 1. I’ve also learnt because world war 1 had not that much stuff from world war 2 because world war 2 had different stuff like planes or tanks and stuff.
Now what: I am going to tell all of my family members about world war 1 and why it’s different to world war 2. Now I am going to learn more about a different war like maybe world war 2 and I’m going to learn about what weapons they had. Another thing I’m going to do is find more facts about the people that died in world war 1.
